Enrica Guidato was born in 1975 in Lecce, Italy. After receiving her Scientific Diploma from high school, she moved to Florence and then New York where she received her Associate Degree for Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology S.U.N.Y in New York. She also earned a Diploma for “Design dell' Abbigliamento”-Apparel Design at Ent-Art Polimoda Institute in Florence,Italy.
In 1996 she began her work experience as a Designer and Production Manager for various design studios and large companies around Tuscany and Milan, including S.Faulkner's Style Studio in Florence, designing the Fall 1998 collections for GUESS? Handbags and DIADORA Womenswear; Production Manager for Sara Lee Champion Europe Inc.; Big Brothers s.r.l. as Head Designer Womenswear CREATUM Fall 2000 and S/S 2001. Ms. Guidato has also worked with other brands such as Free Soul casual denim wear; G Gioi luxury knitwear and garments; and Technostil leatherwear.
Ms. Guidato combined her design experience with a teaching career in 2001, teaching fashion-related courses at Lorenzo de Medici Institute, where she developed a course in Fashion and Accessories Design. She continues to pursue her career as a Designer and Instructor, with an acute focus on the creation and organization of special fashion courses and events that have a constant link with the working fashion system.
In addition to being the Fashion Department Supervisor at SRISA, Ms. Guidato teaches at Fua and serves as a guest lecturer at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Fashion Design and Merchandising. Ms. Guidato writes the monthly column Style and the City for “The Florentine” www.theflorentine.net.
